WHO ARE ROWMIC?

A1. ROWMIC is Malawian owned business based in Lilongwe which was established in 2015 initially as an agency for vehicle delivery from port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania to various parts of Malawi. The business expanded its network to include vehicle purchasing expertise in the Japanese used car market and overall logistics from overseas to Malawi.

Over the years since its establishment ROWMIC has become a popular name in used motor vehicle industry in Malawi and has helped a lot of customer to order vehicles from Japan without complications. It is a business a lot of Malawians engage as agents in the used motor vehicle industry because of good service delivery which is based on trust and professionalism.

A1.Browse your requirements on the website of used vehicle suppliers in Japan or elsewhere for example, www.sbtjapan.com, top@beforward.jp and share the link with ROWMIC.

A2. ROWMIC will check the unit, provide technical advice if needed then give you a budget/estimate from Japan to Malawi using prevailing exchanging rates. (Due to forex situations in Malawi parallel rates may apply when doing calculations).

A3. Negotiations for discount will commence once the customer has shown interest in the unit and agreed to the estimate/budget.
A4. ROWMIC will broker a deal with any legitimate supplier on internet but we have good business relationship with SBT Japan and BE FORWARD Japan who have reputable record on the Japanese used car market and overseas including Malawi.
 
A5. Customer can also ask ROWMIC to assist in identifying a unit to purchase by providing make and model details
A. Payment to ROWMIC is through deposit in local bank account or customers can pay straight to the supplier through ROWMIC account at SBT Japan or BE FORWARD Japan.
A. As a security measure ROWMIC encourages customers to deposit their funds in bank accounts which we provide and keep records. When funds are deposited direct to the suppliers, you will be informed through an email when payment is received.
 
B. When depositing straight to ROWMIC account with the suppliers overseas you are provided with an invoice with clear details which include; bank details, invoice number, stock ID, stock details, invoice name and amount.
Enquire from ROWMIC for invoice authenticity before paying, however when paying through links use links generated from the suppliers’ system.
When the car is shipped we receive notifications through emails about details of shipping company and vessel carrying your vehicle, this shipping information is regularly shared to customers.
It is a fee paid to clearing agents at port of delivery when the ship arrives or before arrival, this fee is used for handling and storage of customers’ vehicles before collection at the port.
Port charge is included in the vehicle order and delivery contract you sign after full payment to Japan is confirmed, shipping schedule is made available and original documents have been generated. Port charge is determined by calculating vehicle weight, length and width and year of make in some cases.
Normal ship schedule takes one month from Japan to Tanzania, however delays may be experienced when there are factors affecting logistics. Your car will reach to destination in Malawi at an estimated time of one and a half months if all required resources are available after payment.
A1. You can order a vehicle in any category without restrictions, however there are some vehicles with specific usage which you have to check with the authorities whether there are specific rules and regulations for operating such vehicles in Malawi.
A2. Although there is no rule restricting some vehicles, in Malawi motorist drive on the right hand side of the road. It is import to check vehicle specifications when buying because vehicles with steering on the right hand side are recommended.
Shipping of your vehicle may be delayed when the amount paid is below 50% of total invoice amount. However, when customer pays above 50% of the invoice, the supplier might ship the vehicle while waiting customer to finalize the balance. All shipping arrangements which customer has not paid full invoice amount, the supplier does not release the original vehicle documents (Bill of lading, invoice and export certificates) until payment is made in full.
Service charges vary depending on the amount of total landing cost of the vehicle, however fixed service charges include 2% of total landing cost exceeding MWK50,000,000 and 2.5% of total landing cost not exceeding MWK50,000,000. ROWMIC deals are negotiable.
